住空間にも馴染むデスクチェア。 Frondは、その命題からスタートしました。
近年、それまでゆっくりと変わり始めていた働き方が世界中で急速に変化し、一部ではすでに定着するほどになりました。そんな、働くと暮らすの境界が良い意味でますます曖昧になっている状況・環境に最適な椅子を創りました。
この椅子は、座り心地の良さはもちろんですが、空間との親和性に主眼を置いてデザインしました。オフィスをはじめとする公共空間や、プライベートな居住空間において主役やアクセントになるのではなく、空間になじみ、空間そのものを引き立て、時に空間の印象を引き締めるような椅子であって欲しい。その想いからデザインの検討を始めました。
特徴的な背もたれの直線的なシルエットは、空間を構成するアウトラインとの親和性を高めるだけでなく、椅子そのものとしても、軽やかでスマートな印象を創り上げています。それとは対照的に、座面の豊かな曲線によるシルエットは座りたくなるような優しさと大らかな印象を人々に与えてくれます。三次元に成形されたシェルは長時間座っていても疲れません。
また、整形合板のシェルに使用されている木材は、EPA(経済連携協定)の定めるForestry Best Management Practices（＝アメリカの飲料水の50%以上が森林地帯に由来しているため、水と森林を保全するための基準)に準拠している森林管理者•伐採者による持続可能な森から切り出されたアッシュ材のみを使っています。
シャープ＆ソフト。シャキッとした印象と柔らかな座り心地。その両面を併せ持ち、空間に佇み空間を引き立てる、上品かつ親しみやすいデザインです。

A desk chair that also fits in with your living space. Frond started with this proposition.
In recent years, the way we work has been changing rapidly all over the world, and in some parts of the world, it is already taking root. We have created a chair that is ideal for such an environment and situation where the boundary between working and living is becoming increasingly blurred in a positive sense.
This chair is designed not only to be comfortable, but also to be compatible with the space. We wanted the chair to fit in with the space, enhance the space itself, and sometimes tighten up the impression of the space, rather than being the main character or accent in public spaces such as offices or private living spaces. With this in mind, we began to consider the design.
The characteristic linear silhouette of the backrest not only enhances the affinity with the outline of the space, but also creates a light and smart impression as a chair itself. In contrast, the richly curved silhouette of the seat gives an impression of gentleness and generosity that makes people want to sit on it. The three-dimensionally molded shell does not get tired even after sitting for a long time.
In addition, the wood used for the shaped plywood shells is only from ash trees cut from sustainable forests by foresters and loggers that comply with the Forestry Best Management Practices of the EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement).
Sharp and soft. Both sharp and soft. It is an elegant and friendly design that combines both aspects, standing out in a space and enhancing it.
