reti-co（レティコ）は、固定観念を取り払うという視点から生まれた、シンプルでありながら機能的なキャビネットです。
そのほとんどが壁際に置かれ、真正面から対峙することが基本といえるキャビネット。そんなキャビネットのデザインにおいて最も重要で印象を創るのは「扉」であり「取手」であるといえます。特に取手は、キャビネットのデザインを創り出すキーとなり、個性そのものとなり得ることもあります。
reti-coでは、キャビネットのデザインにおける固定観念ともいえる取手をあえて“なくす”ことで生まれる可能性を見出すという視点からデザインを考えました。その視点から辿り着いたのが、日本の伝統的な建具の一つである「障子」です。もちろん障子にも取手はありますが、無意識下の自然な行動として障子を開く際に「格子構造に手をかける」という動作をとる人は少なくありません。その行為は日本の障子のみに留まらず、世界中の格子戸や柵状の扉と人の無意識下の行動との関係性にいえると私たちは考えています。
その「構造と行動の関係性」に着目し、構造体でありながら、取手でもあり、さらに意匠としても機能するデザインを創り出しました。
reti-coの印象的な格子によって現れる長方形は、全てが美しい黄金比になっています。
またreti-coの扉には、木材の仕上げだけでなく、ファブリック／ガラスという2種類の異なる素材による仕上げをオプションとして用意いたしました。異なる素材の組み合わせはシャープなデザインに更なる表情を持たせ、より一層インテリアに馴染ます。棚板は可動式とすることで、収納物に合わせて変化させることが可能です。そうして、機能的で空間に馴染む今までにないキャビネットが生まれました。

reti-co is a simple yet functional cabinet that was designed with the aim of breaking down stereotypes.
Most cabinets are placed against a wall, and it can be said that the basic approach is face from the front. When designing cabinets, it can be said that the most important elements that create an impression are the doors and handles. In particular, the handles are the key to the design of the cabinet, and they can even become the individuality of the cabinet.
At reti-co, we approached the design from the perspective of discovering the possibilities from deliberately "eliminating" handles, which could be considered a stereotype in cabinet design. From this perspective, we arrived at the shoji, a traditional Japanese sliding door. Of course, shoji doors also have handles, but many people unconsciously place their hands on the lattice structure when opening a shoji door. We believe that this behaviour is not limited to Japanese shoji doors, but can be said to be a relationship between people's unconscious behaviour and lattice and fence-like doors all over the world.
By focusing on the relationship between structure and behavior, we created a design that functions as a handle while also being a structural element and a design element.
The rectangles that appear in reti-co's striking grid are all in the beautiful golden ratio.
In addition to the wood finish, we have also prepared two different material finishes for the doors of the reti-co: fabric and glass. The combination of different materials gives the sharp design an even more expressive look and makes it blend in even better with the interior. The shelves are movable, so you can change them to suit the contents you want to store. In this way we have created a cabinet that is both functional and in keeping with the space, unlike anything you have seen before.
